The company is looking for a competent Concrete Construction Working Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at various construction sites.
The candidate should have a solid background in the field. Extensive leadership skills and experience with the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. Candidate should be well-organized and favor safety above everything else. This is a physical working position, and will require a well-rounded individual who is skilled in all facets of construction.
Responsibilities • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed. • Produce work schedules in accordance with availability of employees, subcontractors and monitor the attendance of crew. • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery and personnel related issues. • Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and subcontractors. • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on site quickly and amicably. • Monitor all subcontractors and construction team progress. Keeping track of status, developing schedules of completion and courses of action to take and ensure project stays on track. • Maintain daily diary of all activities and site conditions with complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets etc. • Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. • Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
Qualifications • 10+ years’ experience as construction foreman. • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and convey this information to others. • Proven experience in concrete construction; including commercial foundations, footings, forming, finishing and layout. • Ability to safely and productively operate machinery (skid steer, mini excavator, fork lift). • Ability to travel within the State of Florida. • The ability to work in extreme temperatures, to work with hand and power tools, to stand and walk for long periods of time, and to lift heavy objects. • A CDL license is preferred and an acceptable driving record is required. • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (carpenter, concrete finisher, equipment operator). • Fluency in English; Spanish a plus.
